The Plan to Teach Kak Raka (Naya's Cousin)

Assalaamu'alaikum. So, I've got an offer to teach Raka, Naya's cousin, English (home) lessons. He is a ninth grade students at SMP Al Azhar Cairo Yogyakarta. He lives in the same house with Naya. This evening, Naya just gave him my number and then he texted me about his need to have the lessons. He offers Wednesday and Thursday, and that suit my available time. I'm free on those days at 7.00-9.00 p.m.

Due to the lack of knowledge about him, and to make this lesson start naturally, I want to make the first lesson an introduction session where he needs to introduce himself and then we discuss his needs for the English lessons. To make it easier, I'm structuring the sequence of events as follows:

  1. Introducing my self in English: Kak Raka, perkenalkan, nama saya Imam Hidayat, panggil saja saya Pak Imam.
  2. Asking him to introduce himself the same thing, try in English. If he can't try to write it down first in his book.
  3. Asking his current English lessons at school: the activities, the teacher, the resources, etc.
  4. Asking his favorite way of learning: music, movies, conversations, writing, using his course book, etc.
  5. Then asking what he wants to have or to do in the lessons.
  6. Asking if he wants me to help him with his English homework.
That's all I could think of for the first meeting. I hope it'll work well therefore he even has learned something in the first meeting. Aamiin Allahumma aamiin. Alhamdulillah for all the Blessings and Mercies you have given us, Allah.
