The First Time with Kak Raka

Alhamdulillah the first meeting with Kak Raka went well. At first I thought his English was very limited, particularly his speaking. However, along the way I found out that he is pretty confident. When I asked him what he did in English today, though not really fluent, with some errors in his use of past tense verbs, he could explain it quite well. When the conversations getting more detailed, he responded in English. The fact that he is an introvert, as he said, his speaking is appreciated. In the middle of the conversation, I got a deadlock for a few seconds, running out of ideas of what to say, since he only wants to have me to improve hos speaking. Lucky that I posted my plan to teach him today that gave me an idea of what questions to ask, so that the conversation flew out naturally. I also asked him to write his plan after graduating from junior high school, and it took him quite a long time to elaborate his ideas. However, it is good that he dare to do it. The next activity was writing journal. I asked him to do that in a hope that he can improve his writing, including spelling and idea elaboration.
