Thursday: Heart Filled with Joy
Assalaamu'alaikum. Alhamdulillah this morning I started my day very productively: doing the chores and informing the new teachers about the makeup class for Intensive English. Therefore I could manage to arrive at school on time. Then I said hi to all students and teachers on the way to my classroom. After that, I had breakfast and prepared the worksheet for the Intensive English. After that, I taught the class in Teachers' Room and asked them to design a lesson plan based on the template I provided and specially for Miss Nawang, I asked her to write a list of expressions that she needs when a student comes to her for a health treatment. Alhamdulillah, as always all of them were really eager and seriously doing it. I'll challenge one of them to practice the teaching next week and the rest should be giving comments and constructive suggestions.
After Intensive English, I went to the Library right away to check students' Library Visit. Although there was Ms. Uswah, I should go there anyway to help her with checking their reading log book. Alhamdulillah most of the students got an opportunity to get checked, and some others had a time to at least work on the worksheet.
Next, I came back to classroom and started writing the journal. Here is the list of the upcoming things I should do during today:
- Checking teachers' lesson design.
- Assigning one of them to practice teaching in the next meeting in the WA group.
- Finishing proofreading 2 Umar's Thematic comment.
- Re-sticking the loosen packaging display.
- Checking and grading students' work.
- Teaching Tilawati.
- Teaching 5 Ali Global Perspectives, where I am going to spend the lesson for a speed reading test and asking them to make the front cover of their term 3 portfolio.
- Finding materials to teach English Matrix tomorrow.
- Making a worksheet for students to set an action plan after discussing trash in Global Perspectives.
- Making a classwork on Google Classroom for students to submit a photo of their actions.
- Helping Ms. Vita write information and greeting: "Most of the questions will be in the form of reading literacy" and " Dear parents, we were hoping that you could sincerely wish grade 6 students the best of luck in the ASPDBK. We believe that your prayers are one of the keys to their success."
