Assalaamu'alaikum warahmatullaahi wabarakaatuh.
Today I start journaling with some bad news. It is about the spread of Covid-19. Here how it went. So, last night, Miss Riri asked and shared some info about an Al Azhar Junior High (SMP AA) student who got transmitted Covid-19 in the HTs WA group. She got the info from one of her students' parent, who also happen to have another child studying at the SMP. Due to that case, SMP AA decided to close the School for offline learning for the next one week, starting from today, January 27 until February 4. For that matter, to avoid a greater transmission, we also decided to make our learning online, lasting at the same period of time.
Last night for me was a bit chaotic since my baby was crying quite often. When Ms. Vita and all teachers got very "heboh" because of that, I was helping my wife calming down our baby. Meanwhile, we HTs should inform parents the sudden news in our WA group chat. Even Azra's mother, the parent of one of my students, chatted me privately for that. Lucky for me that Ms. Ana responded to that very perfectly. Alhamdulillah. I need to thank her for that.
This morning, after start writing the journal (so it's a journal of today and a little of yesterday), I opened all the files of morning routines. Then I opened zoom where 2 students were already waiting in the waiting room. I admitted them, and the other students when it was 7.30. While waiting, I ate my humble breakfast menu: chicken and tempe-filled arem-arem (Javanese rice cake).
Normally went on, we started the day with chit-chat and followed by morning meeting. Right after that, we studied Civic Education where we discussed the connection between physical & personality traits and job. It was quite heart thumping as I just created the worksheet after I had my breakfast. After Civic Education, we had English. Students developed details of their brainstormed story ideas. Break time came an hour later. After the break, we had Science Cambridge. We investigated temperature dissolving points by doing a simple experiment. We measured how long it takes for a glass of cold water, a glass of warm water, and a glass of hot water to allow a teaspoon of sugar dissolve in it. However, we discussed a little about dissolving, soluble, and insoluble. The difference between dissolving and melting was also included. After doing the experiment, we concluded that hot water allows sugar to dissolve the fastest.
After all classes were finished, I had lunch earlier becuase at 12.15 I should wait on 5 Ali students while doing English Check Point pretest. Alhamdulillah it went smoothly. After the pretest, a meeting for all the grade 6 mini-research teachers was waiting. We discussed the preparation for our first meeting tomorrow. We're done with grouping the students and brainstorming some ideas.
That was the last thing I did before I went home. Finally, at least I could do all my planned agenda today.
Note:
When it came to student admission observation, which was online and using my class' zoom meeting, Ms. Ulya contacted me because the password I gave her was incorrect. Lucky that I could help her and the other observers by opening zoom, then letting one of them become the host. Aside from that problem, the parents of two student candidates asked for a rescheduling tomorrow. Alhamdulillah, with the same link, we can do that. Thanks to Allah for all the Blessings today.
