- Led literacy class: We did Fiction Comprehension #1 'Race to the Fish'. I asked three students to read a paragraph each: Keira paragraph 1, Fayya paragraph 2, Raja paragraph 3. Hikari answered question no.1 correctly and he could show the evidence in the text. We just to number 2 where the answer is in paragraph 2.
- Hosted PE: side way roll assessment
- Taught Thematic: write main information of a paragraph, using the worksheet from Ms. Indira. For those who have accessed pintro, they have already downloaded and printed it out and finished. For those who haven't done it yet, I shared the screen and sent the file in the zoom meeting chat. Then I gave a model of how to write the information with a notebook.
- Finished writing week 4 weekly plan
- Sent KMS (Kompetisi Matematika Suprarasional) result and announcement to parents via WA group (no response, they might know about it already from another teacher as I sent them this very late. Just hope that they're not upset about it)
- Attended the Opening Ceremony of annual meeting
Highlights:
- Today I feel happy because the Science class, in which I replaced Ms. Tara, went quite smoothly. I used the riddles time again beforehand, and it worked as students didn't ask where Ms. Tara was. Even though when I told them that Ms. Tara is still busy renovating her house, nobody asked why. I can say that today is a successful day of mine. Alhamdulillah. Allah, thanks so much for the blessing.
- This year's theme is understand your impact on students' learning. It means that as teachers, our teaching should have impacts on students' improvements. Therefore, when we know much about something, say an effective teaching strategy, a great worksheet, a good reading passage, etc. we need to share it with other teachers. It is for us to keep learning and developing skills of teaching so that it will have an impact(s) on students learning.
- Prior to finding or mastering strategies, we need to find out and map students' learning mastery levels personally one by one. Therefore we need to assess them, but not only in terms of cognition. There are three things that we need to assess to determine students' place (3 Hs): Head (knowledge and understanding), Hand (skills and capabilities), and Heart (attitudes, maturity, dispositions). Then, we can find strategies by collaborating with other teachers to address this so that we can differentiate our classroom learning to accommodate their differences. By then our teaching can have impacts on them in those three scopes.
- We need to be innovative teachers. One way that we can take to make it come true is by looking at other schools which may have great programs/learning activities. And after this pandemic, the most clear example of being innovative is by implementing a combination of offline learning with online learning, or what others might call blended-learning. We should also never forget that student-centered learning.
